Privacy notice

Lightyear IT is an IT project company in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This notice explains what personal information we collect through lightyearit.ca, why we collect it, and who handles it on our behalf.
What we collect
When you send the contact form, we collect what you type into it: your name, your email address, your message, which service you're interested in, and your organization's name if you give it.
Like any website, the servers that deliver this site also see technical information such as your IP address and browser type. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are viewed. It doesn't use cookies or identify you. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't build profiles of visitors.
How we use it
We use what you send through the form only to reply to your enquiry and, if we work together, to scope and deliver your project. We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list.
Who handles it for us
- Cloudflare hosts this site, protects it from attacks, and runs the Turnstile check on the contact form that tells people from bots. Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details to do this.
- Microsoft 365 delivers and stores the email your enquiry becomes.
- Google Fonts serves the typeface this site uses, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond and, if we work together, for the length of that relationship and our legal and accounting obligations. After that, we delete them.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, by emailing [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
